Ajman, UAE; March 3, 2013: Ajman Bank, in collaboration with Abu Dhabi Blood Bank and Sharjah Blood Bank, has launched a blood donation drive across its network throughout the UAE.

On 17th February, the drive took off at the Bank’s Khalifa Branch in Ajman and Al Ain Branch. It then moved to Buhaira Branch in Sharjah on the 25th of February and then to Jumeirah Branch in Dubai on the 28th of February. The drive attracted a remarkable number of donors who generously donated the gift of life to fellow citizens whose lives are in danger and need urgent blood transfusion for trauma, accidents, organ transplants, heart surgery, leukemia, cancer, thalassemia, and all other types of life saving surgeries. The campaign is expected to move to Abu Dhabi – Khalidiya Branch on 1st April.  Ajman Bank organized a similar campaign earlier in 2012 that drew more than 200 donors from both staff and customers. This year’s campaign has seen growing success with 300 participating donors till date and 500 expected by April.

Maryam Al Shorafa, the Bank’s Head of Corporate Communications and Marketing expressed her delight at the large numbers of partaking employees and customers: “The tremendous participation that we are witnessing at our various campaign locations is extremely positive. Donating blood doesn't take more than 15 minutes, but the simple procedure could save a life. I encourage everyone who can contribute to this noble initiative to do so."
